Lauren is a program developer in Environmental Biology for the Biosciences Area, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. She nurtures audacious ideas in team science into large research programs. Lauren believes that the most innovative science comes from diverse, inclusive teams.
Lauren was formerly a post doctoral scholar at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where she investigates the interactions between plants and soil microbes to improve plant growth and soil health.
Lauren earned her doctorate and masters degrees in Biological Systems Engineering at UC Davis, where her studies focus on next generation biofuels and integrated agriculture.
She is a leader in renewable energy advocacy and sustainability organizing, previously serving on boards for climate advocacy non-profits. Lauren is an educator for students of all ages and has developed engineering curricula for middle and high school students.
